Our reviews aren't poetic, they just happen to rhyme.

Welcome all to The Limerick Review,
For feedback on films; both old and new,
We sort classic from crime,
In a quick five-line rhyme,
Just browse or leave your point-of-view.

The Limerick Review is a film review site with a twist. All reviews take the form of a five-line poem, using the classic limerick structure. Our reviews are short and sharp, making them quick to write, read and refer to friends. In the digital age, these reviews are perfect for checking on your phone when at the movies or video shop and trying to decide what to watch. They are small enough to be posted social media sites like Twitter and Facebook, making them much more viral than traditional long-winded reviews.

What is a limerick?

The limerick is a unique form of poetry, which is intended to be fun or comical for the reader. It fits within a strict rhyme scheme, which takes the form of A-A-B-B-A. Here is an example of a Limerick Review:

While Fincher is yet to upset,
Network is still not his best,
Timberlake’s tolerated,
But shouldn’t be nominated,
Eisenberg deserves the credit he gets.

Try it yourself!

We encourage all users to try their own hand at writing for The Limerick Review. All user-submissions will be considered and selected reviews will be posted. We take reviews of all films, old or new, so feel
free to write about the last movie you watched or recommend your favourite movies. They’re quick and easy to write, so get started and send them in.

How you can help us:

Like us on Facebook, follow us on twitter and share our site with your friends! We just started this as a bit of fun, but that doesn’t mean we’re shy of accepting any charity to build our profile. We would appreciate all the help we can get in terms of financial backing (to update the website), branding, advertising or media coverage.  Because this is a movie review website, the thing we need more than anything would be the chance to review these films without forking out for the movie tickets – it’s costing us a fortune! It will get you some great exposure for your films and help us out a great deal, so feel free to send some passes our way.  Send all enquiries, freebies and submissions to either: chris@thelimerickreview.com or dan@thelimerickreview.com
